The Lassen-Modoc-Plumas Unit has eight State funded forest fire stations and works with many volunteer fire departments to provide structure fire protection within the Unit, with paid departments in Susanville City, Janesville, Westwood, Chester and Herlong.

Of the eight state funded fire stations in Lassen-Modoc-Plumas Unit five of them are two-engine stations and three are one-engine stations.
